It's a composite score built from temperature, humidity, wind speed, smoke density, and soil moisture at each sensor. It's a strong early-warning signal, not a certainty — treat "Extreme" as "conditions are dangerous," not "a fire is confirmed." Confirmed fires are cross-checked against satellite hotspot data (NASA FIRMS) where available.

We don't have a large enough deployment yet to publish a real false-positive rate — this is an early-stage network. As more sensors go live and more seasons pass, we'll compare the risk index against confirmed fire outcomes and publish accuracy numbers.

No. Public sensor readings are shown openly on the live map because early wildfire warning is a public-safety good. We don't sell location or usage data to third parties. See our Terms & Privacy page for details.

It's logged and reviewed by our team — it is not monitored in real time or automatically dispatched to emergency services. For an active emergency, always call 112 first.

We're an early-stage project validating the sensor mesh and software on a real, contained deployment before expanding. Kuçovë was chosen as our pilot site. See Partner With Us if you want a sensor in a new region.

It's flagged as "offline" on the map rather than silently showing stale data as if it were live. Units run on solar with battery backup; connectivity is via LoRa to a local gateway.
